Inspire the community
Social Network is a National Programme, organised in Local Councils for Social Action (LCSA), with the aim of encouraging public sector bodies and other entities to combine efforts to prevent, mitigate or eradicate situations of poverty and exclusion and to promote local social development through partnership work.
In 2019, we launched the Menos Sal Portugal (Less Salt) programme, warning of the problem of excessive salt consumption, in partnership with Pingo Doce.
In order to make our messages credible, we carried out an unprecedented scientific study in Portugal, which proved that behavioural change and nutritional literacy lead to gains in health.
The study gave us grounds and arguments to explain the scale of the problem and be part of the solution, in a preventive way, by changing behaviour.
CUF regulations provide for volunteering activities, and employees can spend 40 hours a year volunteering without loss of remuneration.
CUF’s Volunteer Programme includes several carefully and objectively selected non-profit associations, to which all employees can apply as volunteers, in accordance with the terms defined in specific regulations.

The volunteer event at BIPP-SEMEAR was attended by 150 volunteer employees and gathered more than 200 applications.
For three days, the volunteers spent time on BIPP-SEMEAR land, planting, harvesting and sowing.
