Limited visits and companions

COVID-19

In view of COVID-19 and the need to step up measures to protect patients and the community as a whole, the right to have visitors and companions at CUF hospitals and clinics has been temporarily limited.   

It will be only allowed one daily visit for each patient hospitalised for more than 48 hours, for a maximum period of 60 minutes.

 

 

Schedule for visits to hospitalisation unit
CUF Cascais Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours, accordingly the following schedules and services:

 

Intermediate care: 4pm - 5pm

Hospitalisation Adults wing 1: 5pm - 6pm

Hospitalisation Adults wing 1: 6pm - 7pm

CUF Coimbra Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 1pm and 7pm

CUF Descobertas Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours, accordingly the following schedules and services:

Visits on wednesdays and saturdays between 12pm and 9pm

CUF Infante Santo Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 1pm and 7pm

CUF Porto Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 1pm and 8pm

CUF Santarém Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 12pm and 9pm

 

CUF Torres Vedras Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 12pm and 9pm

CUF Viseu Hospital

Daily visit with a maximum duration of 60 minute, preferably always the same person, for patients hospitalised for more than 48 hours.

Visits between 12pm and 9pm

The presence of a companion is only allowed in the following hospitalisation departments: paediatrics, obstetrics (check here the information about Maternity Unit rules), palliative care/terminally ill patients or when accompanying people with special needs or people requiring permanent monitoring (with authorisation from the Clinical Director). 
 
CUF hospitals and clinics have the necessary resources and equipment to enable all patients to contact their families daily online. 

 


In order to reduce the number of people circulating at CUF hospitals and clinics, permission to accompany patients to consultations, exams or permanent care is still temporarily suspended, except in the following cases:

  • paediatric patients
  • patients with disabilities
  • dependent patients
  • patients in palliative care/in fragile health who need to be accompanied
  • the father is allowed to be with a pregnant mother during obstetric ultrasounds, with the exception of the CUF Alvalade Clinic, CUF Belém Clinic, CUF Cascais Hospital, CUF Coimbra Hospital, CUF Descobertas Hospital and CUF Miraflores Clinic
