October 2017

The gardens Egas Moniz Museum (Egas Moniz was a Portuguese scientist who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949) welcomed the traditional gathering of CUF employees on the past 30th of September

CUF 2017’s annual gathering was a real success, as the weather could not be better, the food was excellent and amusements were many. The event gathered around 250 employees from the different companies of the CUF Group and their families.

As usual, employees on duty at Estarreja facilities were not forgotten. More than two dozen meals were delivered at the facilities so that they could also enjoy something different on that day.

Amusements especially intended for children included inflatable cushions, a mechanical bull and a 10-metre high tower for climbing and slide.

But there were more than just amusements for children. Following lunch, the Human Resources Department – within the scope of its “Cufamina” project, presented an initiative called “Chemistry that binds us together”.

The aim of the project was to promote cohesion, team spirit and well-being at CUF, in a relaxed environment, with some physical exercise in between. Teams were set up with employees from the different companies of the Group, who were challenged to tell something funny about themselves, jump rope or play the traditional game of quoits, sing karaoke… or test the knowledge about CUF’s history on a mural drawn specifically for this initiative.

At the end, in addition to the many polaroid photographs taken to mark this initiative, the prevailing feeling was that of joy and the will to do even better next year.

“Casa Museu Egas Moniz” is always open to visitors, offering a unique opportunity to get to know the career, life and home of the Portuguese Nobel Prize winner for Medicine.

Amongst participants in this company gathering were CUF Chairman, João de Mello, and executive director Luís Rebelo da Silva.
