The visit lasts several hours allowing visitors to witness the geological evolution of the Planet at a depth of 230 metres into the Earth.
Three further visits to the Rock Salt Mine of Campina de Cima will be made during de month of September, in line with visits made in August. This partnership of CUF with Living Science, in the form of a Summer Geology programme, exists for over a decade and enjoys great success.
CUF invites a restricted group of participants to descend by lift 230 metres down into the depths of the Earth, to visit the rock-salt mine. Throughout the tour of the mine, visitors are explained about how rock salt deposits and develops and how it is extracted, as well as the importance of rock salt in our daily lives.
